Pao Arts center | 2021

Each fall, Pao Arts Center celebrates Experience Chinatown by pairing local businesses with artists to create murals.

Growing up 1/4 Chinese in the suburbs of Boston, Chinatown represented a place to gather and connect with my family and heritage through food. When posed with the question "how do you nurture the Chinatown community in 2021?", I drew inspiration from the role APM Coffee plays in nourishing the souls and bodies of the community.

Process
👋 meeting with owners to learn what nurturing the Chinatown community looks like to them
🎨 iterating to develop a final design based on APM Coffee’s and the Pao Arts Center’s feedback
🌞 painting for 2 days in 90+ degree weather (major thanks to TukTakStudio for your support!)
