Design an object to evoke the emotions associated with a ritual.

Curious about how the transition to independence shapes birthday rituals, I consulted folks in their 20s about how their relationship with birthdays. I learned showing one cared through time spent represented a key way of showing care. This form of showing care took place in 3 primary modalities: sharing food, gift giving, and connecting via technology. Cake’s intersection between food and gift giving represented an exciting medium for exploration.
